Fly Eagles Fly

Game one of the NFL Season. While my Eagles failed to fly, I had to bust out my new McNabb jersey in support of the green gods of the football field. There's always Monday NIght Football next week. GO EAGLES!

It's A Boy!

My cousin had her baby! Chase Francis was born Friday 9/7/07 @ 1pm. 9lbs., 21 inches. Although he had a hard time coming out (thus the black eye), we're glad he's here.

MIdnight Madness

I thought there wasn't anything better than Ikea. Then came Ikea Midnight Madness. Just for being a college student, I got a free tee shirt, a free salmon dinner (with apricot glaze, mighty tastey might I add) and for completing the scavenger hunt (which wasn't even a hunt for this Ikea pro), a desk lamp. A LATE but enjoyable night proving Ikea is the best store in the world.

Man in the Moon

Tuesday was a beautiful night. I couldn't resist taking a pic of the moon. Nothing like a clear, cool summer night. Priceless. I wonder if the man in the moon feels the same way looking down on us?

Cold Cuts and a Condo

Good old Satriale's. It was never a pork store, just a store front, although "the guys" did spend a lot of time on this sidewalk. And soon...The Soprano Condos. No, I am not joking. That may be taking it a bit too far. Where will the Sopranos tour stop next? Stay Tuned...

Till Death Do Us Part

I know I am going to hell for this one...this is the cemetary where all the Sopranos funerals took place. Jackie, Livia, Jackie Jr., etc...may they all rest in peace in TV land.

You want a cannoli?

Dana's Soprano Tour continues. This is the bake shop from Season 1 where Christopher and his friend shoot the 2 guys. It is now an oriental rug store. Oh well, I guess no cannolies today.

Happy Birthday Sera!

Last weekend was my friend's daughter's birthday party. Ah, to be 5 again. Make a wish!

Got Myself a Gun and Some Pizza

Thursday was spent once again working in Sopranoland AKA Bergen Co. This time Dana indulged me and we went by Pizza Land from the opening credits of the Sopranos. From what I hear the pizza isn't that good, but it knocks another Sopranos stop off the list.

Oh When the Mummers Go Marching In...

Last weekend was a random trip to AC to enjoy the beautiful weather and use an Enteraiment Book coupon at the yummy Showboat Buffet. During our meal, we were treated to the sounds of the Mummers playing New Orleans favorites as well as some of their classics. A perfect way to spend a day in Summer day in NJ.

Sunset on Cape May

I have to give Charles the credit for this pic. While on our dinner cruise, I could hardly breathe so he took over the camera. THIS is New Jersey, Exit 0.

I have more to come tomorrow including Sopranos Part 2, so check back!

Move over Tiger

Mini Golf at the Shore is a must. This course was modeled after ones found on the PGA tour. And boy, were we challenged...the wind that night was unreal. Charles won. I demand a rematch.

Hot Diggity Dog!

Charles and I always find the most unique eateries....that's what makes them so great. While vacationing in Wildwood, we found this awesome hot dog hut where they serve the hotdogs in dog bowls. Genius! I'll have to remember that for my next BBQ.

I Heart Pigs

The Capy May County Zoo...a real NJ treasure. It's much more park-like and FREE! I wanted to take this little guy home but Charles said no (real) pigs allowed but then again, I bring home the bacon (haha). Ok that was lame....moving on....

Birthday Round 2

Charles got to celebrate his birthday AGAIN when I had a family BBQ. 28 must be a good year...

Dipable Bday

For Charles' Bday on 7/31, we went to the greatest restaurant ever...The Melting Pot. We had fun dipping the night away! Happy Belated Birthday BABE (inside joke here).

Down the stretch...

On 7/28, I got to celebrate Phillies tailgate #2...a comeback win by the Phils. I love watching the Liberty Bell light up and chime after a homerun. I won't be able to make the final tailgate of the 2007 Season...unless a playoff game, of course! Have fun and Go Phils!

I Deserve It

OK, I've been a bad blogger again...go ahead...yell...I deserve it. But I make up for it by doing a nice thing. About 3 weeks ago, I gave blood. 1 pint of blood can save up to 3 lives...even though I almost passed out AGAIN, it was worth it. Call your local blood bank today. Tell 'em I sent ya!

Free as a Bird

I am Free! I finished my last summer class. Only 1 more to go 'till my degree :) Trish was kind enough to meet me for a celebratory drink at her fav bar and she took this fitting pic. I'll try to update my log more now that I am not in school 3night a week.

Light Show

With the recent humid weather and thunderstorms we've been having, it is no surprise that we've been getting a lot of Fire Police calls. I'm sure the next few weeks will be just as busy.

Not an Urban Legend

It is not an urban legend, Sonic really does exist. On the Lancaster Co trip, Charles had a great idea---let's go to Sonic! The food it yummy, the drinks are brillant and they need to open one in So. Jersey.

Good 'Old Manheim PA

Charles and I spent a few weekends ago doing nothing and loving it in Manheim PA (We're suckers for the Hampton Inn there). We went to the dinner at the Farmers Hope Inn which is an old pub that still feels that way. Not to mention, they have great food and great music.

The Victors Pub

The night before July 4th was spent w/ Amber after class at the new Victors Pub. Although it wasn't a late night, it was for this in bed by 10er. They will be seeing a lot of us come Mondays this Fall.

They Do

Ok, so I am a little behind again. Mo & John's wedding was 3 weeks ago and wonderful...everyone looked great and had a great time. Congrats to the happy couple.

Just Practicing...

Last night was John and Mo's wedding rehersal. Hopefully Friday will be cooler and not raining because that is the real deal.

Don't Stop Believin'

While working in North Jersey, Lisa indulged me and we went to Holsten's for lunch, the ice cream palor where the last episode of the Sopranos was filmed. This the booth that Tony and Family sat in. Yes, I had the onion rings and ,yes, they were "the best in Jersey." I don't know what happened to Tony, but I can tell you from personal experience, it would have been hard to hide a gun in those bathrooms.

Summer in the City

This is one reason I love my job. While doing some investigations in NYC on Thursday, I got this hazy, yet fabulous, view of the NYC skyline. Priceless.

Fire at the Beach

Props to Trish for taking this pic while I was asleep on the beach on Sunday. We both got awoken to people talking about a fire. This was a boardwalk fire a few towns over in AC. Another enjoyable and exciting day at the shore.

No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service

I've seen the title sign before but never one like this. During a summer night walk, I discovered this at the field up the street form my house. I can think of some other things they could add to that list.

A Winner!

I love carnivals. It is just another remind of Summer. Charles and I got to go to one last weekend and my carnival game skills prevailed. I beat out a bunch of kids and won this big blue dog. I gave it to my godson Michael even though it is bigger than him. Not for long though...he's getting to be a big little man :)

USS United States

This is the USS United States. It has been docked on Coumbus Blvd. across from Ikea for a long time. A sign in front of the ship says that NCL America bought the ship. I assume one of these days they are going to restore it into a cruise ship, maybe to cruise the Deleware? If anyone knows, please tell me.

The Best Store in the World!

I love Ikea. It is quite possibly the best store in the world. How can you not love a store where you can get great furniture and great food at a great price all in the same place?!?

Garden in the City

On my way to the Walnut Street Theater to see a show, I came across this beautiful neighborhood garden. A beautiful garden in the midst of urban life. What more could you ask for... a perfect balance of both worlds.

BFB

The Ben Franklin Bridge is Philadelphia AND Camden icon. Since I park in a different lot for Summer classes I get to see this great view 3 times a week.

Back on Track

I haven't blogged in a long time. So busy...so some of these pics may be out of date order, but you get the picture...literally. This is the main reason I've been lax...summer school. Trying to get 2 classes in in 8 weeks is quite a task and pretty much all of my free time is spent in school or doing homework.

Yum-O

Ok, so 2 photos in one day...shoot me...it makes up for all those days I didn't post. Anyway, this is the meal I made for entrance into the Rachael Ray 10 Ingredient Challege. Beef en Croute, Bacon and Onion Green Beans, and for dessert, a Ricotta Cheese, Apricot and Blueberry Parfait. Don't worry, I'll still post this blog even when I'm famous :) Thanks to Charles for filming my culinary journey. If I win, I get to go on the Rachael Ray show and cook with Rach. Wish me luck!

The Music That Matters

This is what I spend my Sunday mornings with...the board at Rowan Radio. Every Sunday from 7-10am I play the Broadway music that matters. Blah Blah....you know the deal. Anyway, I love doing it even though I have to wake up at 5:45am. It combines two things I love...radio and theater. I remember the first time I went on the air back in '01. I was so scared. Now I do it practically half asleep. Oh the fun days of college...where have they gone? PS: ENTER SHAMLESS PLUG... You can listen to me Sundays from 7-10am at http://wgls.rowan.edu

Fightin' Phils

Saturday was spent tailgating with Trish and the gang at Citizens Bank Park for the Phils/Giants game. It was a fun time had by all...even though we had to watch Barry "I can't hit without 'roids" Bonds play. Best of all, the Phils won! I can't wait until the next one.

Jumperoo!

Memorial Day was spenting BBQing at the Pusloski household. I think my godson Mike had the most fun...MomMom and PopPop just bought him this jumperoo to play with. I wish I had one to work off those BBQ calories :)

Busy Izzie

My Memorial Weekend was spent in Margate with the Basile's including Izzie. Here she is playing with the doll I bought her in Alaska, although I'm sure she'd enjoy playing with the remote more! Ah to be a kid in summer again...

No Reading Terminal

I almost forgot Pike Place Market, a Seattle landmark. It is very similar to Reading Terminal Market with its fresh produce, flowers, and baked goods. Reading Terminal Market has two things that Pike Place Market will never have though---pork roll and scrapple!

Some things are better at night

This is the parliament buiding in Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, Canada. While this is a bustling city during the day, the real stars come out at night.

Liquid Sunshine

Ketchikan calls rain liquid sunshine. What a positive way of thinking! Luckily, we were spared and visited Ketchikan during one of the few sunny days. I guess if I lived in Ketchinkan where there are no traffic lights, I'd be positive too.

Sunrise, Sunset

The sunset around bedtime is something to get used to. It stays somewhat light in Alaska until about 9:30pm in May and the sun comes up again around 4:30am. Nothing like the almost 23 hours of daylght in the peak of summer. I don't blame the Alaskans for wanting the sunlight---there's so much to see!

Brrrrr

This is what I came to Alaska for...beautiful glaciers in Glacier Bay National Park. It was COLD, but well worth it. Nature can speak for itself...no need for me to write any more.

All Aboard!

The White Pass Railroad in Skagway was a shore excursion well worth the money. Climbing up the mountain the gold diggers once climbed was breathtaking and surreal.

Ready?1?

Ready?!? Charles and I thought the musher (the guy or gal who drives the sled dogs) was talking to us as we awaited our dog sled ride. Little did we know, he was talking to the dogs and at that moment they took off and FAST. Here I am with a 10 week old Husky puppy that may one day grow up to race in the Ididarod. If the ship would have allowed it, I may have taken him home :)

Oh what a beautiful mornin'

This is what I woke up to Tuesday morning as I looked out my balcony. A beautiful view of the Alaskan mountains is not a bad way to start a new day.
