Jumperoo!

Memorial Day was spenting BBQing at the Pusloski household. I think my godson Mike had the most fun...MomMom and PopPop just bought him this jumperoo to play with. I wish I had one to work off those BBQ calories :)

Busy Izzie

My Memorial Weekend was spent in Margate with the Basile's including Izzie. Here she is playing with the doll I bought her in Alaska, although I'm sure she'd enjoy playing with the remote more! Ah to be a kid in summer again...

No Reading Terminal

I almost forgot Pike Place Market, a Seattle landmark. It is very similar to Reading Terminal Market with its fresh produce, flowers, and baked goods. Reading Terminal Market has two things that Pike Place Market will never have though---pork roll and scrapple!

Some things are better at night

This is the parliament buiding in Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, Canada. While this is a bustling city during the day, the real stars come out at night.

Liquid Sunshine

Ketchikan calls rain liquid sunshine. What a positive way of thinking! Luckily, we were spared and visited Ketchikan during one of the few sunny days. I guess if I lived in Ketchinkan where there are no traffic lights, I'd be positive too.

Sunrise, Sunset

The sunset around bedtime is something to get used to. It stays somewhat light in Alaska until about 9:30pm in May and the sun comes up again around 4:30am. Nothing like the almost 23 hours of daylght in the peak of summer. I don't blame the Alaskans for wanting the sunlight---there's so much to see!

Brrrrr

This is what I came to Alaska for...beautiful glaciers in Glacier Bay National Park. It was COLD, but well worth it. Nature can speak for itself...no need for me to write any more.

All Aboard!

The White Pass Railroad in Skagway was a shore excursion well worth the money. Climbing up the mountain the gold diggers once climbed was breathtaking and surreal.

Ready?1?

Ready?!? Charles and I thought the musher (the guy or gal who drives the sled dogs) was talking to us as we awaited our dog sled ride. Little did we know, he was talking to the dogs and at that moment they took off and FAST. Here I am with a 10 week old Husky puppy that may one day grow up to race in the Ididarod. If the ship would have allowed it, I may have taken him home :)

Oh what a beautiful mornin'

This is what I woke up to Tuesday morning as I looked out my balcony. A beautiful view of the Alaskan mountains is not a bad way to start a new day.

Out of this World!

View from below...this is the view from UNDER the world-famous Space Needle. Just something you have to see while in Seattle. The Space Needle was built for the 1962 World's Fair and was considered a modern marvel. While the structure is showing it's age, the views can't be beat!

A Coffee Lover's Holyland!

For someone who loves coffee, Seattle is heaven. Here I am at the first Starbucks in the world which is located in Seattle. The coffee is really better in Seattle and cheaper (must be that whole supply demand principle).

The Emerald City

Seattle is a great city. Very clean, very artistic. If you can get over the rain and the panhandlers, it can't be beat. This is a view of downtown from the the Space Needle.

Crunch!

This pic needs a lot of explaining. This is Charles' Mom. I was complementing her on her glasses shortly before this pic was taken. Then came her sis Shelley and her infamous bear hugs and...snap...there goes the glasses. Oh well they worked enough so half the table could read the menu and it gave us all a good laugh. Back to Tar-get for a new pair I guess. (PS: We weren't even drinking!)

10-17

I had two purposes for taking this pic...photo a day and for the CHFP website since Charles is never in any of the pics (only videos :)). This is from a house fire on Saturday. Just doing what we do best...blocking traffic.I am trying to think of some whitty fire department slogan to put here, but one is escaping me. Oh well, next time...

La Fiesta de Cinco de Mayo!

Thanks to Trish for inviting me to La Esperanza on Friday night for what she called "my holiday". Not that I'm Mexican, I just love the food! Two Margarita's later and with a broken camera, I accidently took this pic of Trish. I thought it was lovely and so in the moment that I decided to blog it. Ole!

Apple Rules!

Apple Rules and not just because their stock is making me rich. Here is a pic from Panera. Charles and I were studying and so was another couple with his/hers black/white Macbooks. How cute! Now only if we can convince Trish...

I Heart Rutgers-Camden!

Ok, well first let me apologize for being a slacker again. I was already scolded by Trish and Charles.
This picture is appropriate, though. I've been a slacker due to finals at this lovely institution. Tonight was my last one until summer session in 3 weeks so maybe that is why I am overly joyed.
Rutgers-Camden really is a beautiful campus. Despite Camden's bad rap, a lot of building downtown and on campus are really beautiful---great history!
And congrats to RU Women's Softball beating Rowan to win the NJAC. I was torn as to who to root for so I was happy either way. Now maybe they can win the championship again...Go Lady Raptors!
